Carlo Rino Style Questions, Answered!

I'm giving away two Carlo Rino Wristlets to two readers! To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is follow Andrea and I @1blog2lives on Twitter and retweet my tweet on this blog post!

Winners will be announced via Twitter on the 23rd October, 2012!

This is so exciting! On the Carlo Rino Style Guru Facebook Application, fans of the Carlo Rino Singapore Fan Page asked the style gurus (Jemimah, Andrea and I) questions related to fashion and style. So in this post, I will be answering the questions that were being posted to me!

01. Is body-hugging, sexy clothes best for a date? Or just be myself and go for the date? - Cheyenne Neko

If you’re going on a first-date, don’t let your nerves overwhelm you! Wear something that’s simple, fun, fuss free, and something that you feel sexy and confident in. It’s all about striking the perfect balance! Be yourself and let your personality shine through! Don’t forget to wear a pretty smile on your face and spray on your favorite flirty scent! You would want to leave a good impression after the date!

I've put together three looks to give you a better visual of the perfect date outfit! To complete the look, I've also matched the Carlo Rino bag that would go well with these looks.

Romantic, Sexy, and Fun.
(Midnight Dreamy Links 02, Tartan Tale 04, and Vintage Fairy Tale 06)

02. I have been wearing simple short dresses to work as I am lazy to mix and match. I do have accessories like scarves, bangles and earrings but I am afraid of looking like a Christmas tree. Do you have any tips on accessorizing? - Kristen Chay

Nothing makes an outfit stand out more than the right accessories. Always start with a monochromatic outfit if you want to pile on bold accessories. However, it is very important to match your accessories with the outfit. Do stick to a common color palette and design when it comes to accessorizing.

03. I’m a big fan of polka dots as they are simply irresistible! However, it seems weird to be spotted all dotty while attending formal events or even at work sometimes! How can I carry out my favorite style without looking too casual with the dots? - Joan Teo

Prints are a fun way to invigorate your wardrobe! You can still pull off the polka dotted look at formal events or work by going for a small-dotted blouse, dress or pencil skirt. Another option is to incorporate polka dots in your accessories. Match your Little Black Dress with a polka dot clutch, shoes or bangles to make a stylish fashion statement.

04. Well to be honest, I’m more of a tomboy at most times. How do I match non-girly clothes to a girly-looking bag? Sometimes, I feel like I’m matching my clothes and bag wrongly and I'd feel weird after I stepped out of the house. - Pu Niao

For a top-notched tomboy look, match your shirt, pants, and shoes with Tartan Tale 02, Vintage Fairy Tale 05 or Enigmatic Dainty Ditty 03. Tres Chic!

05. I will be celebrating my first wedding anniversary in Singapore on 24th December. We have decided to dine at Fullerton Hotel. I want to look my very best on that special day. Kindly suggest what should I wear? - Deepali Gupta
  • Show skin when it’s least expected.
  • When in doubt, belt it up.
  • A statement dress is a great way to make a strong impression to that special someone, especially for a special occasion like your wedding anniversary. Instead of the usual LBD, go for a pop of color! Pair it with cute heels, and a clutch!

Fierce & Love,
J
